Law enforcement careers in focus at Fairley

Fairley Elementary School recently hosted local police agencies as part of a career exploration series.

The event, held in conjunction with National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, gave students a chance to ask questions and learn about potential careers in the field.

In addition to learning about law enforcement jobs, students were also introduced to some police canines. The dogs were trained to serve in specific roles, such as detecting explosives, finding drugs, tracking a person, or providing a therapeutic function.

“We’re grateful to our local law enforcement partners for their ongoing support of our students,” said HCSD administrators. “Our students enjoyed interacting with the officers, learning about their careers, and seeing their canine companions.”
