Kayla Skipper, an alumna of Hannibal Central School District, recently returned to her alma mater to speak to elementary students about her life as a TV writer.
Skipper has worked as a writer for popular TV shows such as Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger, as well as other PBS Network projects. She held a question and answer session with students, in addition to discussing what it’s like to work in the TV and movie industry.
“This is always what I’ve wanted to do,” Skipper said in her presentation to students. “When I found out I could do this as a career, that’s exactly what I decided to do. You can have different passions that you like, but make sure that you explore them and see if it’s something you can do for life. It doesn’t have to be just a hobby if you don’t want it to be.”
