History

Fast pitch softball started in Hannibal in 1982 and played on the field at the end of the gym.  The tennis courts are now located where right field was.  When the addition was added to the high school in 1988 the team moved to Cayuga Street School (now Kenney Elementary) and played on the field near the road.  A renovation project in the late 90's caused the girls to move their home field once more to a new field behind the Kenney elementary building.  This is their present home field.  The softball team has had only one coach since it came into existence in 1982 - Steve Cianfarano.  The softball team has an overall record of 307 wins and 117 losses at the end of the 2005 season.  They have been to the sectional finals five times and won the C1 sectionals in 1991, but lost to Sandy Creek for the overall C championship.  They have won numerous league titles. They have also been recognized as  team scholar athletes each year except one since the state began the Team Scholar Athlete program
