Summertime basketball workout!

Summer is the time to work on your weaknesses and improve on your strengths.

  1. Dribbling – 5 minutes (figure 8, crossover, between the legs, etc.)
  1. 50 free throws – set a goal as to how many you wish to make.  (65%)
  1. 10 shots from each baseline – spin and catch a pass before each shot.
  1. 10 shots from each wing – spin and catch a pass before each shot.
  1. 15 three pointers – 5 spots, 3 from each spot.
  1. 10 layups at full speed with each hand.
  1. 25 creation shots – 5 off pass, 5 off dribble, 5 off shot fake, 10 at random.
  1. Mikan Drill – see how many you can make in 30 seconds.
  1. Tap drill – 10 without the ball,  10 with the ball, each hand.

Practice BEEF principle

Balance – one foot in front of the other (heel to toe)

Eyes – concentrate on the target before, during and after the shot.

Elbow – always keep your elbow inside your shoulder and the ball will always go straight.

Follow through – this is the difference between being a great shooter and an average shooter.

There is no magic to improvement.  It takes hard work.  If you want to improve, you must practice with intensity and concentration as much as possible.
