Fairley Students to Celebrate Read Across America Week



Preparations are underway at Fairley Elementary School for a weeklong celebration of Dr. Seuss.

Students will read Dr. Seuss books, participate in various activities and host an assembly during Read Across America Week, which is celebrated Feb. 26 through March 2. The celebration coincides with the late author's birthday and promotes reading among children.

Below is the schedule for the different activities that will be held each day during the celebration:

Feb. 26: Monday - Fox in Socks Day (Wear your silliest or mismatched socks)
 
Feb. 27: Tuesday - Green Eggs and Ham Day (Dress in the color Green)
 
Feb. 28: Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday (Wear mismatched clothes, clothes backward, inside-out, etc., and sport a wacky hairstyle)
 
March 1: Thursday - The Cat in the Hat Day (Wear your favorite hat)
 
March 2: Friday - One Fish, Two Fish...Day (Dress in the color Red)
