This elective course concentrates on the motion picture industry in the United States, focusing on some major contributors to this unique art form - from the earliest days (Charlie Chaplin) to the present (Steven Spielberg). Along with looking at movies from a historical and artistic perspective, this course will also allow students to learn basic filmmaking/video production techniques as they work towards the creation of their own films. Class size limited to 16. Seniors and juniors given priority enrollment. Having access to a camcorder is strongly recommended.
