Getting to know Technology:

Goal: Examining the historical evolution of technological innovation as a means through which human needs and wants are satisfied.  
Activities: 

1. Historical research creating a PowerPoint presentation and making a model (see student examples below).

2. Local senior citizens are invited into class to talk about the "Good Old Days" sharing their insights into technological change.

3. Students watch the video " Machine Story" which is a timeline that shows how technological change has become rapid. Students are then asked to become futurist an try to predict technological change in the next 20 years.

4. Students participate in an assembly line production of an American folk toy called the "Gee Haw Whimmy Diddle"
